When Jim and I went back to where I went to school in Saskatchewan we found my old schoolhouse surrounded by bush.  Not so in 1904 when it was built and when I was in Grade One; the bluff had ringed only the edges on west and east while our northern edge was bordered by a row of spruce.  Now long unoccupied the bluff has taken over, poplars shade the old steps where no one goes.  The 1904 picture is on my Cronelogical blog if you would like to see it.  The horseback to school was still the rule and an unwilling Helen, aged twelve was forced to let silly little Fran age six ride behind her.  I suspect that I was never so disliked by anyone else in my long life!  Cheers, Fran
