Here it is! I just saw this image on Flickr and posted a comment there. This is a wonderful tribute to a faithful sweet dog-spirit. Veda will forever run free in Shangra-La.

Thanks Lori. I have been searching everywhere for strength and remembered that it is my art and Soul Food that keeps me going, keeps me out of that black hole I can see just nearby.

Yes, Heather, this is a wonderful thing, a wonderful tribute. Veda looks so peaceful, it’s a beautiful image.

I was recently asked if I thought dogs had souls, drawn from Em’s special connection with Branwen. Says I,
“No — only humans are encumbered by a soul. She is directly connected to Source with no need to question or doubt. There is a touch of GodLight in everything, but in pets we can see it more clearly.”

This is lovely and what a comforting image of Veda running free. I have heard it said that in death we do what we most loved in life — Veda loved to run free, now she can run forever.

Thank you everyone. It was so healing to draw this. The drawing was done with complete love and I am sure Veda would be happy. I can see her swooning with pleasure as she so often did when we made a fuss of her.

Veda,
Can you see me making a fuss over you? Are you swooning? I hope you have settled in and are running free and strong. There will come a time when you will be asked to don your angel wings and come to the threshold to escort a love one who crosses over. Look for Jennie girl – she is a beautiful German Shepherd Girl Dog. She can tell you her story – and perhaps one day I will share it here in this sacred cave.
